In November 2024, together with Fondazione E35, at the World Urban Forum 12 held in Cairo. The forum is an annual event coordinated by UN Habitat, which brings together innovations from countries, NGOs, and private individuals from around the world regarding the built environment. Following the path set out by the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, I participated in conferences and talks on the themes of sustainable living, climate, waste, and gender in urban planning. For Fondazione E35, I designed an exhibition that illustrated the decentralized cooperation approach experimented with in the MAISPEMBA project: a project funded by the EU’s Partnership for Sustainable Cities program that promoted the exchange of experiences for the design and implementation of public policies for improving land management. The dialogues between two twin cities, Reggio Emilia and Pemba, gave rise to a network of interventions in Pemba, on a municipal scale, each of which gave concrete form to a political vision on issues such as early childhood education, solid urban waste management, urban redevelopment, and reforestation.

In particular, the Chuiba pre-school project is a materialization of the educational experiments carried out during the MAISPEMBA project, which sought to apply the pedagogical principles of Reggio Children and Loris Malaguzzi to early childhood education in Pemba schools and to the construction of this new educational facility.
